The mangoose is evolving...

So admittedly I've been terrible with providing timely updates here...well things have been kind of busy, so I apologize for that. New music from Mangoose has been slow in the making, so for now we are going to scale back operations a bit. All of the original mangoose music from 2000-2008 will be available here, in a more streamlined way. The site will undergo a refresh in the coming month to make finding old tracks and downloading them really easy. We hope to in the future find new bands and musicians to promote, but that is impossible at the moment.

we'll be back.

NOV. 9th @ The Casbah: Lights On, Swim Party, The Moviegoers

Hey guuyy! Three years ago next month sddialedin.com was born. Since then, Rosey, the blog's founder and primary contributor, has tirelessly kept all of San Diego's music lovers in the loop with all the latest listings. She's also given tiny unknown bands like The Moviegoers a chance to reach a larger audience through her honest and straightforward show reviews. (Click here to read Rosey's take on The Moviegoer's first ever show way back in 2008.)

Anyway, in celebration, sddialedin.com is presenting a show at The Casbah on November 9th, and The Moviegoers will be on hand to perform alongside two other fantastic San Diego acts, Lights On and Swim Party. Come show your support!

The Moviegoers Under a Lot of Snow

Apologies to those people who had planned on catching The Moviegoers on March 3rd at The Casbah in San Diego. The event was canceled last-minute, and will hopefully be rescheduled sometime next month. The good news is you don't have to wait all that long to see them perform...just head on down to The Ruby Room in Hillcrest on Sunday, March 15th 2009 for a special, special show, that would be even more special if special people like you showed up!

To help keeped you pumped up, here is a track off The Moviegoer's recent EPish/demoish self-released effort Be A Man. It's called "Avalanche," features Jordan on lead vocals, and is just a click away: "Avalanche" - The Moviegoers - Click to play.

Scott Hallam does 'The Brockman'

Independent musician Scott Hallam, of Gunsling Birds, discovered the Mangoose catalog in a rather round about fashion. Robert Hunter-Rivera, the former room mate of one of Scott's high school friends, introduced him to the music of Raúl Picaporte a few years back. Scott, a rather tasty songwriter in his own right (check out his myspace page), fell in love with Raúl's music and sank his teeth into what is Mangoose, perhaps a little farther than he should have! Here is his rendition of a Jay Brockman classic, "I Don't Want To Go Home To Arkansas" - Click to play.
